The office of the Kanawha Valley Village People is at the Hale House in Malden, W.Va.

The house was constructed in 1838 by Dr. John P. Hale in what was then Kanawha Salines, Va. He was the great-grandson of Mary Draper Ingles who, after having been abducted by the Shawnee in July, 1755, during the French and Indian War, escaped and traveled almost 600 miles on foot along the Ohio, Kanawha and New Rivers eventually making her way back to her home near Radford, Va. in December of the same year.
